RICHARD WHITE

Founder and CEO, WiseTech Global

Richard founded WiseTech Global in 1994. Today it is the major global supplier of logistics execution software covering 174 countries, with ~3,000 staff, and 24 of the top 25 largest Freight Forwarders as customers. His vision is for CargoWise to be the operating system of the global logistics industry.

WiseTech listed in 2016 (ASX:WTC) and has grown into a more than $21 billion (AUD) company.

Richard has more than 35 years of experience in software development, embedded systems and business management, and over 25 years of freight and logistics industry experience. He consults to industry and border authorities in countries where WiseTech provides electronic customs clearance. He also works with universities and schools to create pathways for more students to enter the IT industry.

Prior to founding WiseTech Global, Richard was founder and managing director of Real Tech Systems Integration (a provider of computer consulting and systems integrations services) and CEO of Clear Group (a distributor of computer-related equipment). The first business Richard founded was Rock Repairs – providing musical instrument repairs and setups for the likes of ACDC, The Angels, Cold Chisel and Carlos Santana.

Richard holds a Master of Business in Information Technology Management from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). He is also a UTS Luminary and a Fellow of UTS.
